Julie Scalora

Owner/Artist

Very early on, Julie found a love in drawing. This love was woven throughout her life in various forms. She was a faux finisher and muralist for many years, as well as a freelance artist. In 2007, Julie began teaching art to students in preschool through middle school and remained in that position until 2019, when she accepted the position as development director for the same school. Missing the creativity and element of art that came along with being a teacher, when the opportunity arose to teach at the Art Studio of CT, she gladly accepted. After teaching for 7 months, she admired the business so much she bought it and has plans to add new classes and artwork to the library.

Julie also enjoys crafting of all kinds, calligraphy, cake decorating, sewing, needlework, paper art, flower arranging, photography, and computer art utilizing Photoshop and Illustrator. She hopes to begin illustrating children’s books one day soon.

Julie is a proud mother of four and a grandmother of two and, according to her, is currently living her best life!
